How to Create New Hosting Accounts in WHM

This tutorial assumes you have already logged into WHM.

Click on the ACCOUNT FUNCTIONS link.

Then click the CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT link.

This screen is the heart of WHM. It is the screen where you can create new hosting accounts in real time.

There are several options for which you can set limits. The limits you set here will define how many resources the account has access to.

First, enter the DOMAIN NAME that will be used for the new account. Next, enter a PASSWORD for the account, after which a username will be created automatically, which you can edit later.

Scroll down.

At this point you can continue to fill in values for all the options or to speed up the process, you can choose a predefined account packages, to automatically fill in many of the listed options.

To use a PACKAGE, open the PACKAGE DROPDOWN menu.

Select the desired package. Notice how options are auto filled once you select a package.

You can setup as many packages as you want and should as it helps speed up the process of creating hosting accounts.

Even though packages predefine options for you, keep in mind that you can edit any one of the options further.

Scroll down.

Click the CREATE button.

The hosting account has been created on the server and a new cPanel control panel has been set up for it. You should now send the information to the person who will be using the account. They will need to know the USERNAME and IP ADDRESS as well as the NAMESERVERS.

They can now LOGIN TO CPANEL for the new account but will have to use the IP ADDRESS METHOD rather than the domain name method since the domain name will not work until it’s nameservers have been changed and propagates.

Click the LIST ACCOUNTS link. You new account should appear.

How to Change your WHM Theme

This tutorial assumes you have already logged into WHM.

Click on the THEMES link.

Click the CHANGE WHM THEME link.

Click the XSKIN link.

That’s it. Our WHM theme has been changed, and therefore, the look and feel of WHM is now different than before.

Click the CHANGE WHM THEME link.

To change back to the original theme, click the X LINK.

You now know how to change your WHM theme.

How to Create Hosting Packages in WHM

This tutorial assumes you have already logged into WHM.

Hosting packages help speed up the process of creating new cPanel hosting accounts, by predefining several properties of the accounts you want to create (i.e.: storage space, bandwidth, emails, parked domains, etc.).

You can create as many hosting packages as you wish!

Click the PACKAGES link.

Click ADD PACKAGES.

This is where you set up a new predefined account package.

Simply TITLE the package and go down the line, setting limits for each of the resources.

NOTE: the BANDWIDTH must be entered in MEGABYTES and not gigabytes.

When finished, click the ADD button.

That’s it! The new account has been added and can now be used to speed up the hosting account creation process.

Click the PACKAGES LINK.

Then click EDIT PACKAGES. The new package your created will appear.

You now know how to create a new hosting package.

How to Limit Bandwidth Usage in WHM

This tutorial assumes you have already logged into WHM.

Click on the LIMIT BANDWIDTH USAGE LINK.

A hosting accounts bandwidth limit cannot be exceeded. When it’s reached, the account will stop working until either 1) THE END OF THE MONTH, when bandwidth usages are reset, or 2) THE BANDWIDTH LIMIT IS INCREASED.

Every account in WHM already has a bandwidth limit as it would have been set up when the account was created.

To check the bandwidth limit on a hosted account, select the account from the ACCOUNT SELECTION SCREEN.

Scroll down.

Click the LIMIT button.

You can now see the accounts limit information including used bandwidth and the account limit. To edit the account limit (increase or decrease) simply CHANGE THE NUMBER IN THE BANDWIDTH LIMIT BOX by typing in another value, and click the CHANGE button.

That’s it! The bandwidth limit for the account has been changed.

Next, click the VIEW BANDWIDTH USAGE link.

From this screen, you can see the bandwidth used by each individual account in WHM. Last months figures are also accessible. You can click the SHOW UNITS IN MEGABYTES button to change the way units are displayed.

How to Edit or Delete Package in WHM

This tutorial assumes you have already logged into WHM.

Click on the PACKAGES link.

Then click EDIT PACKAGES.

All packages will be listed in this window. Select a package to edit from the populated list.

Once you have selected the package, click the EDIT button.

This screen is where you edit the package. Scroll down the page to see all of the options you can edit.

Once you have made all desired changes click the EDIT button.

The package has been modified to your specification.

To DELETE packages, click the PACKAGES link.

Click the DELETE PACKAGES link.

Select the package from the populated list.

Note: deleting packages does NOT delete the actual hosting accounts that were created using the package. It only removes the package as an option when creating new accounts.
